Experienced Confectionery / Production Manager

Wild Flour Cake Company is an exciting, fresh artisan cake company based on the outskirts of Bath, Somerset. We provide high quality pre-sliced traybakes, muffins and rounds to cafés and restaurants. Our award-winning cakes are extremely popular, and our business is rapidly expanding.

We are looking for a baker/production manager who can help us make the jump from artisan bakery to the next level of manufacturing. This role would ideally suit production manager or supervisor with patisserie/cake baking experience, looking to take the next stage in their career and join a rapidly growing young company, who will give you the opportunity to grow alongside them.


Responsibilities Will Include:

Set, organise, communicate and manage production processes and production staff’s everyday tasks

Ensure quality standards, customers’ requirements and company’s procedures are followed

Plan, monitor and control process, production and packaging operations to meet customer service levels at minimum cost.

Responsible for budget including recipe costing, sourcing of ingredients, yield and efficiency targets

Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary

Deliver continuous process improvement to ensure targets are met and exceeded


Ensure required documentation is filled in accurately and on time

Ensure Health and Safety rules and regulations are in place and met at all times

Ensure Company procedures and policies are obeyed and followed at all times

Ensure that food safety is at the front of all manufacturing processes


Train, motivate, lead and develop production team members

Track staff performance


The Ideal Candidate Must

Be tidy, methodical and have high standards of hygiene

Have experience of patisserie and cake baking

Have experience with quality systems in a similar food manufacturing environment

Have a driving licence due to rural location
